Central Michigan Life reports from Detroit on March 3, 2016 where the Republican presidential candidates are participated in the Republican Presidential Debate in the Fox Theater of Detroit, Michigan.

Inside Fox Theater Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, businessman Donald Trump, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich touched on the topics of social issues, dealing with ISIS, and immigration. Although it seemed that the majority of the time was spent discussing poll results and Donald Trump’s record of changing his stance on major issues.

Outside the theater Michigan residents protested in a line that rivaled the line waiting to enter the theater. When the protesting crowd grew to large and close to the entrance, the Detroit police brought out four horses to keep the demonstrators a distance away from the entrance to the debate. Many were showing their support for a certain candidate of either party and others were showing their displeasure in the flint water crisis.

Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will speak on Sunday in Flint, Michigan where the water crisis is national news. On the other side, the republican candidates spoke on the issue only once in it’s home state.
