Before leaving this incredible land of Alaska to return to Michigan, I got the chance see Denali National Park. This place, was the most shocking beautiful landscape I’ve seen. Everything truly looked like a painted picture. I spent he day with my parents looking for moose and other wildlife. I was surprised to see the bears, they seems smaller than their coastal relatives. But large, and impressive none the less.
Returning home (I’ve been back for 3 weeks, and fully in the swing of a new job) is odd. Every time I look at photos or videos from Alaska i’m stunned over and over again. It feels absolutely surreal. I can’t believe I did this, and how much I’ve grown from doing this. I’m proud that I pushed myself to face my very real (and practical) fears of flying in small aircraft and the risks of being completely immersed in the wild. I used to be terrified to the point of not letting myself feel those emotions. Now those fears and risks just seem like a part of this incredible life.
