It’s always an amazing moment to see a wild animal close up, but it becomes more meaningful when you see it in it’s last moments before being released back in the wild after an injury. I’ve had the pleasure of watching 4 birds of prey releases with the wildlife recovery Association this year, and each has been special in it’s own way. Greg Poma, a CMU Senior studying biology, has never seen a release, let alone be the one releasing the bird. It seems that this release was just as exciting for him as it was of the newly healed red-tailed hawk.
