A change of years, a change in photography experiences. As of January 2015, I am the Photo Editor for Grand Central Magazine, a student run online organization, for the Campus Life, Style, and Sport Sections. I’ve also been chosen for an incredible internship in Alaska for this summer, which I’m over the moon about. (I’ll share more about that in a later post).
But for now: Here’s some class work from the Spring 2015 Semester. This was the first time I’ve shot indoor Basketball of any kind, so it was a learning experience. Not quite certain what to expect, I started with my canon 70D on shutter priority (1/640) and let my aperture and ISO fixate. Eventually, I found a a sweet spot with ISO 1600 and 1/500 shutter speed, but I let my aperture fluctuate here. I was shooting with a canon 55-200. The next game, I plan to use my 24-70 f4 lens to see if I can get the wonky color to stabilize (I tried AWB, tungsten, and florescent at this game), as well as testing using a “fixed focal” lens by zooming in to 70 and keeping it there.
