This fashion photo was achieved with a high soft box to the left of the model, but centered enough to avoid rembrandt lighting triangles under the eyes. I wanted to the lighting to be dramatic. To show the lashes, facial structure and lip make up while creating a dramatic shadow that dropped off the side of the face. I really like how the shadow follows her cheek bone down her face and defines her chin line. It’s always a pleasure wring with Niki, she’s a close friend and we’re completely comfortable working with each other in the studio. Frequently you can hear us problem solving the lighting and posing problems that come about, and it makes for a great environment. She’s not afraid to try new poses and lighting set ups and I’m not afraid to show her the photo and tell her what is or isn’t working for me by pointing it out on my camera screen. Great experience for me to end the semester.
