Danielle Cook poses in studio October 8, 2014. “When It comes to my style, I just want to look good. I wear what moves me, what inspires me, what empowers me. I wear what makes me happy because I feel like when you look good, it makes you feel good and you do everything that much better,” Cook states.

Shooting fashion provides it’s own challenges. For me they came with figuring out ideas. The pumpkin patch started with the idea to focus on these awesome shows my subject Casey owned, and we followed the orange in the boots right to the pumpkin patch. Coincidentally, she happens to work there as well. The Studio shoot didn’t really have a clear theme, which I think would have made it a little more interesting. My model have the most beautiful body confidence, she even has an instagram page showcasing plus size fashion on a budget that is becoming quite popular.

I find myself really liking the assignments where I feel like I have more artistic freedom, in a previous lighting class I’ll admit I liked the ideas that I came up with more than with this class. I think I walk into a JRN class with a different mindset than when I walk into an ART class, and I need to work on not having that difference in dynamic. For the next assignments I’m going to try to push my boundaries of art and journalistic photography and see if the outcome is something I’m more excited to share.
